The Mjolnir was a spectacular weapon forged by the legendary dwarven smiths Brokkr and Sindri (also known as Eitri) and wielded by Thor, the bearer of the bear—an avatar of the gods. It was said to bring down the mighty giants and trolls that plagued the realms.
The entire head of this stunning Viking hammer is forged from CPM-M4 steel, created by forging multiple billets of powdered steel and weld-forging them into one harmonized piece. The hammerhead features hand-engraved imagery, meticulously acid-etched to bring the ancient symbols to life. On one end, the Ansuz rune is carved—a symbol rooted in the Proto-Germanic word for “god” or “divine breath,” reflecting its sacred power.
In Norse mythology, the Ansuz rune is deeply connected to Odin, the All-Father, who embodies wisdom, poetry, and the transformative power of language. Odin’s legendary self-sacrifice to discover the runes imbues Ansuz with themes of knowledge, insight, and the ability to use words—spoken and written—to create meaningful change.
